The festival of Vishwakarma Puja is observed on Kanya Sankranti, which usually falls in mid-September. This day marks the transition of the sun into the Virgo zodiac sign. It is believed that worshipping Lord Vishwakarma on this auspicious day brings prosperity, safety, and success in work and business.

Rituals and Celebrations
Vishwakarma Puja is characterized by elaborate rituals and vibrant celebrations. Workplaces such as factories, offices, and shops are cleaned and decorated. Employees and workers gather to perform the puja, which involves the following key elements:

  1. Preparation: An image or idol of Lord Vishwakarma is placed on a decorated altar. Tools, machines, and instruments used in daily work are cleaned and arranged around the altar.
  2. Puja Ceremony: The puja begins with the invocation of Lord Vishwakarma through chants and prayers. Offerings of flowers, fruits, sweets, and incense are made to the deity. Special emphasis is placed on the tools and machinery, seeking the deity's blessings for their smooth functioning and safety.
  3. Havan: A havan is performed where ghee, rice, and other sacred items are offered into the fire while chanting mantras. This ritual is believed to purify the surroundings and invoke divine blessings.
  4. Feasting and Prasad: After the puja, a feast is organized for all the participants. Prasad (consecrated food) is distributed, symbolizing the sharing of the divine blessings.
